De Vere Digital BLACK and WHITE
Output costs
Photo paper is accepted as the lowest cost, best and correct media for
outputting digital files from any source.
Print size
The 504 DS creates a "virtual" negative that can be projected,
sized and exposed and processed in the normal way, printing all sizes up
to 20 x 24 inches (50 x 60 cms). The degree of enlargement available depends
on the input file and the desired result. All production machines come
with an extended column so using a roll easel on the baseboard can print
up to 45 x 30 Cm (18 x 12") or 50 x 60 Cm (20 x 24") on baseboard
The DS operating system is extremely simple to use with controlling tasks
capable of being operated either in or outside the darkroom with an added
workstation. As the system is PhotoShop based, manipulation and adjustments
can be made to the images before printing. Orders can be entered and stored
to be printed when required.
With the addition of a roll easel, multiple printing is available either
for a run of prints or for printing complete orders on to a roll. The versatility
of being able to print different sizes one after another, easily and effortlessly,
offers cost-effective digital flexibility not previously available.
LCD Panel
Incorporating the patented spread optic for absolute evenness, the LCD
8 million megapixel panel produces red, green and blue layered images
to build the fullest exposure via the DS software operating system.
This connects with the Digi Lite head to give the correct exposing
light. The panel gives an average of 300 dpi printing resolution, is
maintenance-free and extremely long lasting.
|
Digi Lite
The Digi Lite head uses a standard 24 volt 250 watt lamp and is operated
via a shutter to give constant light over a long period of time. Specifically
formulated RGB filters are operated by a new express action buffer control
for maximum speed output. The filtered efficient light box transmits
the filtered light through the LCD in exact combination with the three
emulsion layers. The Digi Lite is fixed and only uses one light box for
all magnifications to give the greatest consistency. A switchable constant
voltage power supply is included as part of the system.
Work Station
The workstation is built around a powerful Pentium 4 computer using PhotoShop
and DS operating system. Images can be entered via many different means,
i.e. film scanner, CD, Flashcard, etc. These images can be sorted in an
order queue, adjusted as required ready for printing. The image to be printed
is then downloaded, the exposure entered and printed via the exposure control
of the enlarger. The machine can be networked with other work stations
outside the darkroom.
Software
Included as standard with the 504DS system as well as the operating software
are packages for schools, sports, weddings, etc. In addition the software
can be specifically tailored for individual requirements.
Low Maintenance
Maintenance and service costs are minimal with the DeVere DS LCD system.
